Servo sub assembly damper replacement
I just replaced mine. Difficult but not impossible. The dealer quoted me around $1500 as they required dash removal. After removing the glove box, upper storage area above glove box and lower kick panel, place your air circulating control as to ensure the...
Just did a full brake job (rotors, calipers, pads) on my 2003 SR5 4Runner. I removed the spidertrax wheel spacers as I have new wheels coming but the front left wheel will not mount as it now hits the caliper. Caliper is same as stock OEM. The only change I think that might account for this...
Just replaced the Shrockworks' Hella turn signals on my bumper with new ones as the ones that came with the bumper eventually burned up. The bulbs (1157A) eventually ran so hot they were melting the terminals on the bulbs themselves, blackening the plastic housing and melting the lens covers...
I've got the same issue on my 4Runner as well. I've got the Shrockworks bumper also and my noise is the body actually rubbing on my bumper when going over bumps due to normal body flex. The earlier versions of the install instructions had you drill holes when mounting the bumper to the...
Wheelers Off-Road had the uppers for $649 and the lowers for $1595.61. I spoke with Total Chaos and they said in this case, "A miss is as good as a mile". They assured me that there would never be any flex between the components. I will grind the head of the bolt down if there is ever any...
Can't figure out how to attach pics, but after looking and thinking about the problem, I have the idea that the alignment could be the problem. The bottom uniball bolt is not perpendicular to the uniball cup (both sides angled far to the outside when viewed from the front). The alignment was...
JacksonRally,
Thanks for the suggestion, but these are not bolted from the bottom and there would probably be less clearance on top if they were. The nut is pretty big; it is larger than the bolt head. I'm going to guess that when I contact Total Chaos and ask about the clearance, they will...
wkerder4,
So far, no rubbing but ever so close!! No complaints yet on the stock arms; very heavy-duty and put together well. I didn't want to go through the pain of extending axles on the CV's and running fiberglass fenders to accomodate clearance for the extended travel race application...
I know I'll catch grief for the install of stock-size control arms but the original ball joints were shot and needed replaced. My 2003 4Runner (with a Toytec 3" Ultimate Lift) did not have replaceable ball joints on the arms--called for control arm change. So, I installed Total Chaos upper and...
My '03 got schwacked by a Texas-sized T-storm back in 2003 and looked like a golf ball afterwards. I had paintless dent repair done by PARS PDR and couldn't believe the before/afterwards difference. I was very skeptical of Paintless dent repair until I got it back from the shop. Unbelievable...
