Ummmm… you might want to check to see if the fuel pump was already replaced under the big recall of them from a couple years back. If it wasn’t replaced, it might be a free-bee for you if that year was part of the recall. You can check the VIN on Toyota’s website…

I always think the 'load index' thing is interesting, since the 20" tires fitted to the Limited models (245-60R-20's) have a load index of 107... and Limited's are close to the heaviest 4R's in terms of curb weight. One might not be a fan of that size tire on the 4Runner, but clearly Toyota...

You might have to actually remove the fan and clean it that way - probably just some junk in there. Been there, done that. 3 screws hold it in place underneath the passenger side dashboard... very easy to get to and work on.

Just like the OP, I needed to replace the rusted out original skid plate about a year or so ago. I went with the TRD replacement. While it's not a slick as a skid plate with a filter access panel, at least now it's just the 4 bolts to remove, without the pesky plastic filler pieces to tend with...

If you can find an upholstery repair shop, I would see what they say. Probably will be the cheaper option and they can fix it before it tears out and gets worse.

If you remove those bolts now, you'll likely be able to see that they're only engaging a few of the threads. When I installed my TRD plate, I initially just used the 'short' bolts because I couldn't get the longer ones to go in - and I didn't have the thread tap I needed to clean them up. Later...

I've had my '14 Limited since new... and although I replaced my 20's with 17's after about two years in, the 20" wheels never gave me any problems. I still read all the different threads regarding the 20" Limited wheels though, and I don't ever recall blow-outs being mentioned as a concern...
