I have been working on my porsche project, so i kind of lost interest in the 4runner for awhile, now the porsche is done, im back lurking on the forums!

you might gain a little extra HP(like 1hp) from cutting a hole in your airbox, it will allow more airflow into your motor, the big restriction is the stock MAF. BTW, unless you plan on going off road all the time, and getting your runner in mudholes and such, you dont even need the deckplate...

optimas are overrated, i have several of them, and if they set for awhile, they lose their charge, if an optima ever loses its charge, they are just a boat anchor. If you are looking for a dry cell battery, look at the Hawker Odyssey battery, they are much better. If you dont really care...

I have 285/75/16 tires on my runner, and i still get 18mpg. The truck should idle around 900rpm. Im guessing you probably have a a vacuum leak somewhere. I would do a compression check to see where you are at on general engine health.

if you take the radiator out, you can get an impact wrench on it, it comes right off. From start to finish, it took me about 5 hours. If i remember correctly i had about $65 in parts.

I have first hand experience with the 265 tires rubbing on the control arm. When i first bought my 4runner, the previous owner had 05 4runner wheels on the runner. He had 1.25" non hub centric spacers on(which still sat in too far). I attempted to take them off since they had a CRAZY...

they will fit, but you need to get some 2" HUB CENTRIC wheelspacers, or they will make the tires rub on the control arms, not to mention look really strange being set so far in.

you are going to have to find some factory lug nuts. The factory lug nuts have a threaded shank that fit through the lug hole on the wheel. Regular aftermarket lug nuts are not going to work.

kumho has a BADASS new mud tire....worth checking out. BTW, im rolling on BFG all terrains, Ive always liked the look, but way overpriced. Had a hard time getting them to balance.
