    Arguably my best purchase yet

Nope, still on my OG motor and antenna. I have an aftermarket stereo and it goes up and down when I turn the power on and off. Those stubbys are cool but can get ripped off at the car wash.

12mm Rear Shock Upper Threaded Shaft

The 906's are shorter but stiff so a softer stock length shock is required if you want a smoother ride. If you were using the LC shocks with those they are way too long. The 890's are taller but can be bouncy without some weight in the back or a stiffer shock from a heavier truck like a 4th gen...

    Octanejunkie's T4R project - 99 SR5 4WD 5-speed

The Aisin's are good, that would have been my second choice. If I remember correctly the stock clutch is 900lbs and the Marlin is 1200lbs. I think the Aisin is around 900lbs also. I replaced the master cylinder with OEM too. The only thing I didnt fix was the squeaky spring on the clutch pedal...

    Sealed Alternators

I never liked the GM alts, get one from Quality Power. Its a direct bolt in, no spacers or adapters needed. I think I installed mine in 2015 or 16, its been under water and its still working fine. High Output Alternators & High Torque Starters

    Octanejunkie's T4R project - 99 SR5 4WD 5-speed

You should convert this rig to an A/T and RWD! It would be a forum first! :bravo::D Edit: I guess its too late now but the Marlin Crawler HD Clutch is bad ass. Feels just like stock except it grabs a little better. Which is exactly what I wanted for towing by boat up hills. My flywheel looked...

    Which radiator should I buy

No, the part# that starts with the "W" is supposed to be the better one.

    Octanejunkie's T4R project - 99 SR5 4WD 5-speed

Mine was having a tough time going into 1st. (Typical for a manual 4Runner when they get a little older) Someone on here recommended the RedLine MT90. I switched the fluid out & its shifts like butter. That was back in 2016. No issues since.

Congrats on your new rig! Change out the trans fluid for RedLine MT and you will be amazed at how much better it shifts.

Value of a 2.7L vs. 3.4L and other options

Thanks. All 1999 4WD models (Base, SR5 & Limited) should have come with the 1" taller springs & will fit into any year 3rd gen 4Runner. You can fit 275 70 R16's in there with no rubbing. Just dont buy the cheap aftermarket springs like Dorman, they dont last long. Get genuine Toyota.

    CV axle replacement recommendations

But you're getting stronger parts & boots. If you dont wheel hard go get some New Napa MaxDrives. Or OEM rebuilds (which are almost the same price as CVJ) because Toyota doesn't make these new anymore.

    3rd gen front cv axles.

There are plenty of threads on this. RCV 2K axles are for lifted trucks who wheel every weekend & don't need cheap Cardones snapping everytime you're out on the trail. Trail repairs get old real fast. The CVJ's are next in toughness at around $500-$600 a pair. OEM Rebuilds & Napa's MaxDrive...

    Scramble's "Metallica Truck" Build Thread

Hey Man, Thanks for checking in! Hope all is well with you & everyone else in this forum! Well Covid screwed up lots of things. Me & my GF have been out of work since last March. She just started a new job last week so thats good. I'm on furlough, my boss says he's taking me back when work...
