    Blown head-gasket, help needed

My thread won’t be particularly helpful because I didn’t do the work but I will follow up with photos showing what my mechanic did. I did (again) what no normal person would do and spent more than it’s resale value to keep it. I’ve had a lot going on. Long story short- it lives!

    Blown head-gasket, help needed

I will remember this and I thank you for the reply. I didn’t know about that product. It is definitely a good idea to have cheap, alternative solutions to just buy a little more time in times like these. Thank you

    Blown head-gasket, help needed

I did pull over immediately upon seeing it. No smoke from the exhaust. My mechanic did a compression test, wet and dry and assured me he felt confident in going this route. Thanks for all of your replies. I've been using the information from here and it's greatly appreciated.

    Blown head-gasket, help needed

02 w/ 290k mi. Overheated on Hwy, I pulled over and after letting it cool off it didn’t start. Engine turned but nothing more. Had it towed to a shop I trust and they tell me the head-gasket is blown and heads could be warped. The estimate is $2500. I’d appreciate your input. I’m looking at a...

    02 sensor replacement???

Cleared the codes after replacing the A/F sensor. (Denso 234-9002 Air Fuel Ratio Sensor) I really struggled with disconnecting the wiring harness. The two bolts were effortless. After one partial turn w/ the 12mm socket I unscrewed them by hand. The wiring harness, on the other hand was killing...

    JerkyDrewster's 2001 4Runner Build V2

My project took a different turn and I had to focus on maintenance and repair more than off-road but my plans were to get it equipped with additional lighting and a winch. I would like to add the exact equipment you've added to yours.

Man, you're all business. When you do a project you do it right. I get frustrated and cut corners all too often so I admire the patient, concentrated effort you've put into this. Very nice T4R! I love the clean simplicity of it. Looks amazing.

I admire and envy your creativity and ingenuity, man. The fact that you enjoy this hobby with your family actually justifies your time and money spent building it up. You won't have any regrets. Good for you man. May the good fortune and good trails keep coming your way! :thumb:

    Repainting chrome bumpers-which route?

octanejunkie’s link had some good info and a reminder to avoid breathing any dust from sanding off chrome. Very bad stuff. And the “Ultrasonic cleaner” method was interesting. Not to be confused with a microwave!!

    Repainting chrome bumpers-which route?

If I ever decide to do this myself I'd likely go this route. https://itstillruns.com/paint-chrome-bumpers-4895495.html
