1 Yr Anniversary for Toyota Time with Timmy the Toolman and Sean

Thanks for the good work! I've used a few of your videos so far and they are consistently the best guides I've found. I really appreciate the shots of the FSM and torque specs. Please keep it up!

Roof rola basket with custom mounts

Bumping this to add my setup since this thread inspired it. Curt rack with a single extension mounted using Jaketino's method. My aluminium mounts are slightly shorter in height and the U-bolts that came the Curt rack were too long to work so I used some steel strap and bolts instead. The...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

This was technically two weeks ago but I finally got around to installing my Curt rack. I spent a couple of weeks making the brackets, painting the rack, and sealing the joints.

    3rd gen lifespan

My 2000 4runner is at 130k right now and I probably only put about 10k miles on it per year so I fully expect to lose it to rust before anything else.

What aftermarket head unit are you running?

I'm not a big audio guy so I can't speak for the specs but I went with the Blaupunkt NJ 220 http://www.crutchfield.com/p_023NJ220BT/Blaupunkt-New-Jersey-220-BT.html. It sounds great to me and is a very clean looking headunit. I wanted a double din to keep it looking stock.

Inexpensive Full Length Roof Rack (Curt Rack)

Can you post a pic of the "3/4" rack? I'm assuming it doesn't cover the sunroof.

    Sunfire red pearl 4runners!

Essentially stock with the exception of tundra brakes. Most of the work I've done has been maintenance related. The first pic is the day I got her, the last one is just a few months ago on the way back from the Catskills. She's still under 130,000 miles.

I kinda want to go play in the snow...

I managed to get my 4R stuck while exploring an unplowed gravel lot. My rear locker and new Cooper ATPs weren't enough to get my stock rig through 2ft of snow. I would have taken pics if I wasn't so embarrassed by my stupidity. To be fair, a more experienced driver wouldn't have become stuck...

How much time do you spend researching how-to guides?

Hey guys, Just about all of the work that I've done to my 4runner and previous cars has been heavily reliant on guides written by forum members. I usually spend an obscene amount of time researching the project and looking for the best write-up to get it done. After I find the best write-up...

Walker Rear Cat - this can't be right

The exhaust went on today after an epic battle between me and the rusty old exhaust. Two carbide tipped sawzall blades later, the walker exhaust fits perfectly. It looks much better now that it's painted. I kept the factory tailpipe but painted it too.

Walker Rear Cat - this can't be right

I finally found a picture that shows the end of the cat and it looks like the flange is supposed to be set back from the end of the pipe on one end. Weird.

Walker Rear Cat - this can't be right

Sadly, that's the brand new cat that showed up this afternoon. I'll be painting it to keep it from rusting (though it's supposed to be stainless). My walker review isn't starting out very well.
