Update Alternator did in fact go out, and I didn't buy another 4runner. I did however replace the drivers side cv axle and the calipers and rotors, pads and put new bearings. In case you're wondering, since purchasing this vehicle less than 2 months ago I've had to replace the parts I listed...

Yes the pump was a re-manufactured pump from NAPA, with Gasket for the reservoir. The vacuum relay part wasn't salvageable, one prong broke off in the vacuum line and didn't leave enough to put a hose clamp on. I didn't want to get one off a junker because I figured I'd risk having the same...

No pics of the destruction unfortunately. I don't think that the fluid came from the fan clutch, but I replaced it regardless. Lucked out with good parts cars for most of the rest. If they really put a fan shroud to protect from the fan exploding, they could have at least made the shroud...
