So does a 2WD trans out of a 1998 T4R 3.4 swap easily into a 1996 T4R 3.4L 4X4 or would I have to get an actual 4x4 trans to swap

I have a 1998 T4R 3.4L 2WD with low miles on engine and trans. I want to pull the engine and trans from the 2WD T4R and install it into my 1996 3.4L T4R 4x4. Would I have to swap a 4x4 trans for another 4x4 trans or will the 2WD trans work?

So trying to swap out a 4x4 transmission and installing a transmission from a 2WD into a 4Runner with 4x4 is not possible?
