That is about as good a weld as you’ll get using a stick welder. Most of those pretty welds are accomplished with either MIG or TIG machines. Besides, once you apply a couple coats of primer and top coat it’ll look just as good.

The SRS warning light should be flashing a code. If you can ID the code it will point you to the issue. Mines been flashing for a while now and is telling me the passenger seat sensor needs recalibration.
This sounds like a classic compressor clutch problem. Check your clutch gap clearance with a feeler gauge. I don't have the spec for the gap but once you are able to compare the two readings it should be an easy fix by removing a shim from the clutch pack.
