Thanks. So, I need to use a volt meter to test the plug on that VSV? I suppose one side will be 12V and the other side ground. When I change between 2WD and 4WD, the voltage needs to remain the same on each side? That's what I understood.

I made some progress today. I switched the hoses going into the VSV closest to the firewall. Results... I saw my 4WD light come on for the first time in years!!! And I tested - it was really in 4WD. I was excited. With the hoses switched, I could switch into 4WD and it would go into 4WD...

I'm not sure if they are OEM, but I doubt it. I bought 2 sets of belts at the time I did the work. I think these are the belts bought from O'Reilly's.

Thanks guys. From memory, I don't think there is rust on the pulleys for the accessories. The idler shouldn't be making noise since it was brand new with the belts - also did the timing belt with the accessory belts. But it could be faulty I suppose. When I do the one-belt-at-a-time option...

Did you use all OEM parts? My aftermarket bell crank isn't as good as the factory ones. But, Toyota wanted $146 for each bell crank. One of my biggest hurdles now is getting 4WD to work. And, I'm losing my garage in a week or so.
