+1 It does stick out but it's out of the way and no bother at all. It feels heavy and good quality. One thing though is it's very easy to keep hitting that panic button by accident. I ended up opening it up and removing the little switch/button on the inside thus eliminating the issue altogether.

You can probably unplug the switch in the dash, or, if you don't roll down the rear window just roll it down ever so slightly. That will disable the rear defroster as well as the wiper and side view mirror heaters.

Paid $6000 this January for an '07 Limited (V6 4x4) with 215K miles. So far very happy with it.
