Thanks! I was able to make it work by getting in there, and manually moving the levers. We’ll see how long it keeps working. I may be ordering that part soon.

Is this the part you used? I have 150k miles on a 2005 V8 Limited, and this just started happening to me today.

I've got the same noise from my 2005 V8 4.7 with 140k. I first noticed it as fall/winter came on (temps in the low 50s F). It goes away as soon as the rpms are above 1000.

My $10 lights are still holding up after some decent mudding, and nearly getting stuck in about 2' of snow (different occasions).

Does anyone know how much I need for the front differential? Also, do you fill until it's just below the fill plug? Thanks

This thread is for pics, not questions about what to use. You're questions have all been answered in dozens of other threads. Do a little searching, and you'll find your answers. What you want is dependent on what 4Runner you have. Read the stickies.

I just used the wires the were going to the running board lights. I cut and spliced to the new wires/sockets.

There's a "sticky" about this issue. But for me, I'm just glad they're doing it, even if I had to wait 2 years. If you read through the beginning pages of the sticky, you might be too.

One is for 2wd the other is for 4wd. You want the 4wd. I was able to get the driver's side rear to seat with a pry bar, but I had to cut about 3/4" off the other side with an angle grinder. It then went on super easy, and the passenger side still measures about 1/2" more lift.

Update: After some decent driving on forest roads, the lights are still working great. I didn't take on any crazy terrain, but there were some ruts and rocks. I figured I'd find the bolts or plastic a little loose, but all is still tight and holding up very well.
