May be moving to CO (Long term question)

i'm telling you the amount of time you are going to have to go 4wheeling in the snow while you are attending CSM....slim to none. Program is like 17-19 hours per semester and they are hard courses. Last time I had to use chains in Colorado was 1982 when we had 4 ft of snow out in Arvada(near...

May be moving to CO (Long term question)

You wont need to do anything with your 4Runner. Will do just fine with current equipment. Toyo Open Country AT2's will be ok in the snow. To keep the frame looking good, you might use fluid film or WD-40 each Fall. If you do drive it in the snow, sand, salt and mag chloride during winter, be...

06 Sport Rear Glass Shattered this morning

Yep...that is what I meant. Turn on rear window defrost down there in Houston. I feel like if there is corrosion and a short in the window you might find that sooner than later and get the issue solved before she runs it here in Denver on a cold morning. For example, this morning was about 2...

06 Sport Rear Glass Shattered this morning

Why....if you read up on the issue, it wont necessarily happen with the aftermarket replacement once its replaced.

06 Sport Rear Glass Shattered this morning

why dont you run it down there in Houston well before she is going to leave to make sure it works. If it explodes....just replace it with aftermarket. She is absolutely going to need rear window defrost in Colorado.

Extending Bump Stops - Unsure of Length

I dont claim any expertise on this at all, but what I have seen multiple times on the Jeep forums is that you have to remove the rear coil and shock, sway bar etc while leaving on the wheel/tiresand measure the distance from the Centerline of the lower shock mount to the upper shock mount and...

    RCI Gas Tank Skids

Mike, still interested in gas tank skid and would love to see a rear diff skid. The 3rd gen 4runner diff doesnt look much different from the RCI FJ or 4th Gen 4R rear diff skid so i imagine it wouldn't take much to come up with one. Of course, the usual qualifications that the price will need...

METALTECH SLIDER AND BUMPER Group Buy

Also posted in the FJ Cruiser forum and I am asking Chris from Metal Tech if they are going to post in Tacoma World forum. Since it goes until May 14th, I bet it will hit the 50 participant threshold. And it applies for all their Metal Tech and OPOR sliders and bumpers which are offered for...

Rear Engine Seal Leak at 23k! May Not Be Warrantied?!

And the top side of those RCI skids is probably as clean as the underside. How exactly would that mud/dirt/debris get up above the skids and into the bell housing? If it were submerged the top side of the skids would likely be filled with mud as well. From what I see that is a pretty clean...

    ATF in the transfer case????

same deal....had a '95 Chevy Blazer and '99 GMC Suburban and those ran ATF. Was a bit surprised to find Toyotas run gear oil. I can tell you the Honda motorcycle transmission oil that is 80/85W oil looks and pours almost exactly like ATF and plenty of motorcycle guys run ATF in their manual...

    Re-upholstering a 2007 4R

I am saying exactly that. I installed the Katzkins myself. Look at my post #9 where I referred you to the group buy at Tacoma World that is by John Huey of Affordable Leather Interiors. There is a link in my post. The pricing is on the very first post over there. You can have it installed...

    Re-upholstering a 2007 4R

you are not wrong. Katzkins replace the factory upholstery and you install with hog rings using hog ring pliers. Bit of a learning curve, but you can figure it out quickly. Havent done Clazzios but their literature states that they are covers over existing upholstory and I have watched...
