Its full time 4wd - all the time. The "L" signifies LOCK - which locks the centre diff. Otherwise its limited slip.

I guess it just goes to show...you can do all the math you want, but at the end of the day, infinite variables will determine how long your tires last.

I have my brake controller on the lower right in my 2010 limited...no issues. OP - buy one. You should have got the harness with your truck when you bought it. Its literally plug and play.

My stock Geolanders were toast, so I just put 275/55/20 Goodyear Wranglers on the stock rims....the tire shop didn't think twice about doing it. The look and the drive is night and day. Should have come from the factory like this....pics tomorrow.

My apologies. I'm in Canada, and ours come with tranny coolers. Can't speak for USA.

4Runner has a tranny cooler. And no, driving in S mode 4th gear isn't the same as a dedicated tow/haul mode, but it prevents going into O/D, which we all know is a no no for towing. If the 4Runner wasn't designed for towing anything, why is there a 7 pin connector? Why is there a trailer...

Did you read the OP's post? Its a pop up tent trailer. He's not trying to tow a 35' Taj Mahal. OP, you'll be fine. Make sure you get a good brake controller and use manual mode (4th gear) and the truck will tow like a champ.
