Rock slider steps for petite Arab woman 2018 4Runner

Recently I gave my 2018 4Runner to my ex-wife, who is about 5'3" inches tall. She likes the car (more than I ever did), but has trouble getting in and out of it, even though it is at factory ride height. So I would like to get her a set of rock sliders she can uses as steps to make it easier...

Do you think his Jeep will last that long?

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Yes, I have! I discovered them by accident. My former neighbor is their landlord, and he mentioned them to me since he thought I could use them for my business. I went to their website and was so excited by what I saw I ran down to their shop to have a look and introduce myself. They weren't...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

No, the rails are blocked at the front by the carrier support. There is no way to slide anything into the rails from the front without removing the rails from the carrier support, which I wanted to avoid at this point (though someday I will probably remove the rails to get them powdercoated)...

    Estimated Front Brake Pad Life?

Wow, sounds like these brakes are last a long time. . . . which makes me wonder why the brakes on my 2018 with less than 17,000 miles sometimes squeak (especially when it's colder). Anyone have any ideas? I'm going to take the wheels off and have a look this weekend.

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I liked the NiseRack too, but the guy isn't responding. He was sick late last year and I don't know whether he's recovered. I'm an inventor anyway (I work with firearms), so I decided to come up with my own (simpler) brackets that anyone can make themselves: I liked the hook loop idea, too...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Thanks! I just ordered the brackets from SendCutSend. I'll have two styles, a low profile version (shown in the photo above) that has to be assembled before it's installed; and a higher profile version that is assembled when the brackets are attached to the rails. I'll probably start a thread...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Tested a DIY roof rack system I've been working on. Just drilled some holes in some ¼ inch plywood to act as brackets. Glad I started with plywood prototypes because I ran onto problems getting the original design past the shark fin. Tomorrow I'll send the final designs out for cutting in ¼...

5th Gen Aluminum Roof Rack Using OEM Siderails: NiseRack

I've been working on some brackets of my own design and I discovered another reason to use SAE for this application: the slot in the roof rail is a little over 3/8 inch wide, so using 3/8 inch carriage bolts to mount the bracket is perfect. M10 carriage bolts are too big; and while M8 carriage...

Ease of assembly roof gear question

I have a general approach to life: do not drill holes in roofs if it can possibly be avoided. This is why I like roof rack approaches that use the factory rails.

Ease of assembly roof gear question

This seems to be what you are looking for: 5th Gen Aluminum Roof Rack Using OEM Siderails: NiseRack I e-mailed the guy around New Year's and haven't heard back. He's just getting over COVID. I've been playing with a simpler design that uses laser-cut 1/4 inc steel brackets and 3x1 80/20. I'm...

Did Red 4Runner with 4wd and 3rd row seats ever exist?

Just picked up a 2018 SR5 Premium in December. Ironically, red would be about the last color I would select if I had a choice. I didn't know it had a third row until I got it home. Dunno what the hell I'm gonna do with a third row.

How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

I was about to pull the trigger on a 2021, but decided to save a few thousand smackers and picked up a 2018 SR5 Premium yesterday with 16,000 miles. The price was fair and there was no fooling around with additional dealer-added crap, since it was used (though I did go through a dealer). From...
