I bought my 2012 used last year, and the sharkfin was replaced before I took delivery. It didn't make a difference as far as I can tell. The xm was always cutting out under bridges, driving down tree lined streets, etc. I just gave up and cancelled my service. If there is a fix that works...
I have a Xvida wireless charging mount. I haven't had it off road or on anything too rough yet, but it hasn't fallen off hitting the pot holes of upstate NY which is just as bad. Plus it sits low enough that it doesn't block your line of sight looking out of the windshield.
I'm averaging around 17.6 with 60% highway, 40% city in my '12 Limited thats stock. I'm curious to see if it changes after replacing all the fluids this weekend as I don't think anything other than engine oil has ever been changed.
I've got what sounds like a exhaust heat shield rattling that I will be fixing this weekend. Other than that it's surprising quiet! Granted I'm coming from a heavily modified GTI so anything is going to be better.
