Gotcha. Point well taken. By way of update, I sent a note to Toyota of America and they noted that it's out of warranty but will work with my local dealer customer rep to try to make it right. So far so good...

My dealer says I'm out of warranty and tough luck. I mentioned that others have had this problem, he said he's never heard of anything like it. I said that maybe it was the Sequoias I had heard about. Nope. Siennas? Oh yeah, they had a recall for Siennas. :flipoff:

Strut(s) just went on my 2010 TE with 40k on it. Hopefully the dealer covers it. And what's wrong with flagging known issues? Are people really worried about other people not buying them over this?

I'm happy to walk through what I did if you're interested. It's not the quickest solution, or necessarily the most cost effective depending on how you value your time, but it was a nice little project with a relatively satisfying result.

That's right. I figured 4 holes in the bottom/angled part of the lower bumper were better than 2 holes in the front of the upper bumper, not to mention my preference to have the plate down lower. The decision was easier with the trail and the black plastic than it may have been if I was...

You can build your own brackets. They're not quite as cost effective as buying the Skene mount, but they look better and they're pretty damn solid.
