Away with the Running Boards! Super easy weekend mod today. Only took about 20 min to take off the running boards, cut, cap and tape the wires and done! A very easy visual lift added too. Here are the simple before and after pics. :thumb3:

Sorry to post up on an older thread but I couldn't find any newer ones about the running boards. I just purchased a 2006 Limited and I'm really interested in removing the running boards but I see they have lights on the front and back of them...guessing this is a Limited feature. So if I choose...

How much of an impact does after-market suspension, body lift, size of tires, etc. have on the life of a 4 runner? Or does it really come down to treatment of the truck and service? Thanks in advance to those who reply!
