I've been running spacers for about 4 years. I have yet to encounter a tire shop or the dealer say anything about them nor refuse to work on it. I do check them at every rotation (I rotate myself). The only time I found them to be an inconvenience was when I was replacing the rotors.

Just looking at the pictures; I don't think these bolt to the frame. The first two legs look like they would bolt to where the stock steps would (to the body)

I had a 2015 GX, but my 4Runner is the lowly trail. Between the two the GX was better, but it still wasn't amazing.

I've had my FrontRunner rack for over three years. I did drill the front mounts because I want it to be as rigid as possible. I'm extremely happy with the rack. As others have said, the Yakima Skybox mounts aren't completely shut due to the width of the bars, but i've never had an issue with it.
