If it doesn't do it anymore, I wouldn't worry about it. Mine does it every time I reconnect the battery just like the others do. I have also had it happen twice at random. It was about a year in between them. I can live with that. If it continues, the battery is the first place to look.

The eq in your midrange and bass is very similar to the eq I'm running. I'm sure with the new head unit you'll get better overall output. I just got done with another tune in mine. Finally sounding like I want it. Well see how long I keep the factory head unit as well.
