one thing you might want to look at is the wiring harness that runs between the lift gate and body. I had water leaking in and found that this harness had come undone.

also when running the wire from the camera itself i removed one of the small taglights and above them to the side is a piece of foam leading to the interior of the hatch. I just forced my wires through this foam in order to access them from the inner panel.
