Took my 4runner V8 to the dealer yesterday for thumping sound, when starting up in the morning there is a thumping noise and after a min. or lease it goes away. Talk with the chief tech., he said it's piston slap and its not that uncommon because of the emission. does this sound right. is this true.

I have 08 4runner V8 ONLY 14,000 miles and I hear this ticking noise, Im guessing this maybe the same noise veryone hearing. I bought mine used, No warrenty. will this be cover by Toyota or will I have to pay thanks. I'm guessing I will be paying for IT. I just bougth this 4runner last week.

Sorry fo the lost of your truck, I just traded in my 2001 Trundra for a 2008 4runner. I was going to buy new 2011 Tacoma myself. This was a better deal.
