Frozen Calipers - How many others had this problem?

Had a wheel heating up from a pad hanging up, more than anything you can smell it. Freed up quickly, and the wheel was hot to the touch too. Already had new rotors and pads ready to go, so I got some Cardone calipers from NAPA (powder coated too) and replaced them on the fronts. Old one were...

    Lumbar Disc Surgery

Great news on your progress. Amazing how quickly we can get out of shape, and how long it takes to get back into it. Hang in there, stick to it and listen to the therapists closely. All the best. (Veteran of L5/S2 micro discectomy, major rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders).

Help!! Sound from rear end after going to the snow

Could be brake related, I wouldn't go too far without pulling that wheel and have a good look.

    Why clean throttle body?

Thank you Blackworksinc for the great tech post. One of the issues with buildup on the throttle plate that I experienced, was it would stick and not accelerate off idle smoothly. Cleaning the buildup with carb cleaner resolved that problem.

    Why clean throttle body?

If the throttle plate is being held open by carbon build up (or anything else), you will have a rough idle. Cleaning it up will make sure that it will rest in the correct position at idle.

Interested, if they have no leaks and will fit an '08 SR5. Still available? Only really need the passenger side.

    Shudder after car wash

Had a very similar problem with a different vehicle, though not car wash related. At certain RPMs there was a noticeable vibration that I couldn't pin down. It was an extended bed Silverado with a 2 piece driveshaft. One of the U joints on the rear shaft was bad enough to cause it. If you have a...

Well my rear hatch window shattered from the defroster

Haven't had a problem with mine as yet, since I only use it when it is pretty iced up. One thing that comes to mind to check (I will do so today) is to make sure that the correct fuse is being used. If the circuit is overloaded for any reason, I think the fuse should pop to protect it. Just some...

    Lumbar Disc Surgery

Microdiscectomy and laminectomy on L5/S1 about 15 years ago. Surgery should be the last resort and it was for me, and it sounds like you are there. Like a previous poster, I only spent a night in the hospital and found immediate relief. Recovery was a little slow because I suffered for 4 months...

    High impact wrench

In the shop, the Harbor Freight electric impact works fine for just about everything. And for about $50, you can't go wrong.

4x4 PSA: Use it or lose it monthly reminder

Thanks for the tips, and sorry I missed your post for awhile. Mine is working ok now, and changing the fluids is definitely on my to-do list when this Illinois weather changes to spring. There are only 51k miles on this one, but I still want to change it out as soon as I can. Thanks.
