Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Got my measurements I was able to measure my 4 runner today. The front is 23” center of hub to fender, so the Westcott lift did raise it 3”. The back is also 23” so with the roof rack, it’s only 1” over stock despite a 1.25” lift block. The big question is, do I go 327 for a total of...

Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Thanks for information. I wish I had measured from the correct spot before I left on this trip, it will be Friday before I can look at it again. I like the idea of your variable rate springs, like the C59-677V, I will have to see what the current ride height actually is, as they may be too...

Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

Ok, let me try this a second time, I mistakenly posted this in the 4th gen pages. This post contains more information regarding the current lift with the Westcott kit that was not in that post. Hello. I have a 2016 TRD Pro 4 Runner that has 58,000 miles on it. Two years ago, I had a Westcott...

Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

Sorry, I’ll go to the 5th gen page, I didn’t realize I was in the 4th gen page. The Wescott kit lifts the vehicle about 3” with the stock Pro components, so I don’t think those springs suggested will work, but I’ll take it to the 5th gen page. Thanks!

Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

Rear spring selection Hello. I have a 2016 TRD Pro 4 Runner that has 58,000 miles on it. Two years ago, I had a Wescott kit installed so I could run 285’s on it with the stock Pro wheels. That kit uses the existing Pro suspension components with a 1.25” spacer for the rear stock springs. It...

You are spot on! I made the photo a square and now it’s upright. Learn something new every day. Thanks!

    Hikeit X9 Throttle Response Controller

I agree, from what I can tell they are all pretty much the same except for some minor differences in features.

    Hikeit X9 Throttle Response Controller

After looking at Pedal Commander, Sprint Booster, IDrive, and Hikeit throttle controllers, I decided to give the Hikeit X9 a try. I installed it to the left of the steering wheel where I can see it while driving without looking down and reach it with my left hand. I’ve only driven about 75...

Magnetic Grey 4Runners! Lets see them!

Got the Westcott lift installed Had my Westcott lift installed by Chi Town 4x4. They did a great job and I’m very happy with the ride. Seems to have less nose dive. Other than that, it rides better than stock, mostly due to the 285’s I suspect. The smaller photo was with the 285’s on the...

Magnetic Grey 4Runners! Lets see them!

Oh, I got ya. I have not tried that as I don’t plan on off-roading before it’s lifted. I’m guessing it would rub on something. As far as on road driving, even with the terrible roads around Chicago, it has not been a problem. I’m not advocating that people should get 285’s on a Pro without a...

Magnetic Grey 4Runners! Lets see them!

Will do. From what I’ve read, it keeps the factory ride. I’ve yet to see a bad comment from a end user of the Westcott; pleanty of haters that don’t have one and have never ridden in a vehicle with one. What people don’t understand is that the spring perch essentially works like a adjustable...

Magnetic Grey 4Runners! Lets see them!

The only thing I had to do was take the mudflaps off; no trimming nor chopping needed. I’m not sure what you mean by “stuff them”?

LT tires need more air pressure.

Very interesting. So I used the tire pressure calculator on tiresize.com and it says I should be running my P285’s at 26 psi to get the same load rating as the stock P265 at the factory recommended 32 psi. I get it as far as load rating goes, but will they wear evenly and handle well at 26...

Magnetic Grey 4Runners! Lets see them!

Here is my 2016 TRD Pro. It’s sitting on new 285 Wildpeaks with no rubbing problems. Suspension is stock Pro suspension. I have a Westcott lift in my possession, just waiting for a local shop to slot me in for the install.

LT tires need more air pressure.

I love all the great information I get to read on here and think about, my wife already doesn’t understand how I can think about my 4Runner so much and then I run across this thread. Now to find the perfect pressure for my new p-metric 285 Wildpeaks……
