880/960 OME coils or 1999 OEM coils

mmm, are you sure? I thought this was only true if you are lifting with a TOP Plate spacer. For example, the top plate spacer here: Front Top Plate Spacer (One - 1/4") is only 1/4" thick, but they state that it gives a 1/2" lift. Also, the coil spring packer here: OME Trim Packer is 5mm thick...

880/960 OME coils or 1999 OEM coils

According to this: http://www.arbusa.com/Uploads/PDF/onlineManualsGuides/OME_Guide_current.pdf The 881 is 10mm taller than the 880. They both have a spring rate of 500lbf/in. With my 880/906, the rears were ~.5" taller than the front, so if you go with the 881's that are 10mm (.393"), then...

Rear axle pulling towards driver after lift

Re-torque panhard bolts? I googled this some more, and I couldn't really find anything helpful. Ended up reading a lot of panhard drops and adjustable rods. But it got me thinking. When I installed the lift myself, I only disconnected the sway bar to axle mounts on I made sure to re-align...

Rear axle pulling towards driver after lift

Looks like the front driver fender was in a fender bender, no airbag deployment, but cause for replacing the front bumper, driver front fender, and driver front lights. No impact to the rear. When I installed my lift, I swear the rear LCAs and UCAs were straight. But then again, a .5 shift would...

    Bizarre cargo cover problem

Supposedly it's the stock cargo cover that came with the car. The earlier style covers had the 2 flaps that hooked into the headrest posts and also had a handle on the rear flap, so I'm pretty certain this is the original that came with the car. UNLESS the previous owner had it installed after...

    Bizarre cargo cover problem

Has anyone run into this problem? It's a 2001 with the supposedly original cargo cover... I can't figure out how the cargo cover "shrunk" width-wise, or if my interior trim got wider... The reason the cover is "limp" is because I tried disassembling it to see if I could shift the brackets...

Rear axle pulling towards driver after lift

I understand that, but with a lift, it typically gets pulled towards the passenger side... before, when it was sagging, and now after my lift it's still getting pulled towards the driver side, which doesn't make any sense...

Rear axle pulling towards driver after lift

I've got a 2001 4x4 with 880s up front and 906s in the rear... Before I installed this lift, the driver side rear tire was sticking out about .5" further than the passenger side. I thought this was due to the sagging coils. However after the lift, this hasn't moved the axle closer to the center...

880/960 OME coils or 1999 OEM coils

finally got around to measuring... Wheels: 265/70R16, or 30.6in (31") diameter wheels Cargo unloaded, half tank of gas, about 150 miles on these shocks and coils, and I reused the factory in-coil beehive bumpstop. As measured (rounded up to nearest 1/4") from center of hub to top of wheel...

880/960 OME coils or 1999 OEM coils

Not more than 20lbs and 1/2 a tank of gas. I'll bring a tape measure on my way out for work and get some measurements that I should have already taken before and after the install.

Also keep in mind, if you're not able to park your car in a garage, having a taller car means it's easier for jerks to steal your catalytic converter... I've read about people getting their's stolen in front of their driveway, or even at the mall parking lot. Just food for thought

880/960 OME coils or 1999 OEM coils

So this is what a 880/906 complete OME combo looks like. The truck is a 2001 SR5 4WD with 169k miles on it. Real difficult to find a perfectly flat residential street in San Francisco, so this is the best I can do. Very subtle forward rake, kind of hard to tell from the photo. This is...

880/960 OME coils or 1999 OEM coils

I'm at work right now but I'll post a photo of my 880/906 setup with 265/70R16 (30.60" dia" tires). I don't think the ride quality is harsh at all, and I have practically no added weight in the back during my day-to-day driving. It's stiff, but it has give/cushion. Not the same kind of stiffness...

880/960 OME coils or 1999 OEM coils

I'm fairly new here and have just owned my 2001 4Runner SR5 for a little over 1 month, and I recently battled with this debate... I'm in a similar situation as you -- it's my DD, I don't plan on wheelin' in the next 3-5 years, but needed some minor offroad and hauling capability because I will...
