preacher35 Thanks for the input. You are right, coolant draining is minor compared to the amount of work I need to perform to remove the dash. The more I think about it, might be a good time to replace the coolant anyway.

I know this is an old post, but I have to replace the evaporator on my 4th gen and for life of me I can't find out if I need to remove the heater core as well. I would like to avoid having to drain the coolant as well. Anyone know if engine coolant needs to be drained when replacing the Evaporator?

I am in the Austin/Round Rock area and would love to meet up with some local 4runner owners and head out to Hidden Falls. I am still stock, but would love to see what it can do.

First thing I will add is a new head unit. Last night I replaced the burnt out bulb on the climate controls. So, I have already gotten my hands a little dirty ;-). With her being a V6, I might be limited on what I can do mechanically, but I shall see, seems to be plenty of resources on this site...
