    Shutter at 55 and up

To what extent would you say? Would any movement up/down be bad? I'm curious, I checked that and it had some up/down movement and I took it to a friend to look at and he said its fine, a little movement is okay. He's a lead mechanic in a heavy diesel shop so I'm pretty confident he knows what...

    Clutch Replacement

It's got 203,000 miles on it. The clutch works just fine which is kinda bugging me trying to figure out where this smell comes from. I think I'm just gonna drive it till I know for sure the clutch is slipping and then replace it.

What to do “while i’m in there” doing Lower Ball Joints?

^^^^ Yes what they said. That's good info^^^^ Its relatively easy. That was the first thing I attempted to replace when I got mine was the LBJ's, it took me 2 hours for one side and then 45 minutes for the other since I knew what to do. Good luck

    Complete 2000 4wd, manual, v6 swap into 2wd auto 1999 build/project

Looks like fun! I feel like the 3rd Gen 4Runners are great for an overlanding platform. Neither of those 4Runners of yours had the factory rear locker in them right? potentially noob question: Is a rear locker something you'll need on your excursions and thus be adding in the build? Just...

    3rd Gen 85k miles - What's it worth?

I saw a 2003 Tacoma 4WD with a manual transmission for sale here in Utah for $17,767! I think it had about 65K miles.....no mods, all stock. One could argue it's worth that, but to me not really. $4K-$6K is about the average for a 4Runner that's been taken care of and has over 200K miles.

    3rd Gen T4R Picture Gallery

This trusty steed saw me 5,113 miles from Salt Lake City, Utah to Skagway, Alaska and back this summer. No problems whatsoever up and back, Toyota for reliability and the win :thumb3:

    Clutch Replacement

Aaaaaaahhhh yes, I'm pretty sure this will be a project of mine in the future. Thanks for getting this put together! I've referenced many a video of yours when doing repairs on my Runner, you guys do a high quality walkthrough. I think my clutch is starting to go bad. When I'm in 4th or 5th on...

3rd Gen T4R Longevity is UNREAL!!!!

Truth. I just bought mine back in September with 193k miles and the lady I bought it from didn't take the best care of the Runner. I've been slowly nursing it back to health as it's been in my possession. A little tune up and some basic car care goes a long way in reviving a 4Runner. I just...

The worst part about Tim's videos...

Haha wow how lucky! I'm finding that my PO hasn't been honest with some things.(am I surprised? not really actually). I'm thinking I'll need a new clutch soon...unfortunately he doesn't have a video on that yet :(

    Front End Vibration at 70mph

Can LCA's be a factor for highway vibrations? I had no idea, I'm still chasing a vibration and haven't considered looking at the LCA's

SEASONAL RUST PROOFING using WD-40 only

dogtail hey OP I like this idea and will probably do it thanks for the write-up. Did you have to grind down any rust off of the frame before you started doing this? It looks to me like you were able to tackle this issue before things started to get real rusty. I just got my 4Runner a few months...

    Moab advice

You'll have mass amounts of traction in Moab because of all the sandstone. Whatever you end up doing I can guarantee you will have a fantastic time (excluding accidents...those are never fun). Fins n Things and Hell's Revenge are a good combo, right next to each other, close to town, and...
