so, i actually re****ed my timing a coulpe of degrees due to some valve noise. seemed to quiet down afterwards. you can advance or re**** the timing easily by turning the distributor left or right. just a matter of loosening the bolt, and turning while watching the timing marks on the harmonic...

yeah. i am kinda worried about putting anything from the name james dean on any vehicle, just bad ju-ju. dingman's looks good, maybe i'll just take it off. recdiver, did you have those rims polished!? looks great!

i used rtv with the new gaskets. if the plastic valve covers are mis-shaped, you might need to add some to your valve covers(before the new gasket is in place) to make the gasket seal properly. or just buy new ones. i think the other gasket you are talking about, is the timing cover seals...
