Thanks for this write-up. It worked on my 07 4Runner. I used the blue sized scotchlok and the wires were too small to be affected by the metal connector piece. I used my pliers to squeeze the metal connector forks closer together and that did the trick. I'm relieved I don't have to see that...
That looks great. I have a couple questions for you if you don't mind. How easy was it to install and what wiring harness did you use? Is the display removable? If not, how easy would it be for someone to break in and remove it? Thanks!
I bought my used 2007 V8 Sports Edition at the beginning of the year. It had some small problems here and there that I have slowly fixed. Now, I am looking to fix some cosmetic issues on the exterior of the truck. When I bought it, there was nothing wrong with the grill. However, we had some...
I wasn't thinking you could just take off the 4wd selector switch. I am wondering how you get behind it to replace that bulb. Are you able to squeeze your hands behind it when you have the AC control panel removed?

I need to replace the bulb for my 4wd selector switch. Can someone explain how to get to the bulb or is there a guide available somewhere? I tried searching for one but didn't find anything.
Thought I'd give a little update. I have most of issues resolved. I replaced my rear hatch opening switch yesterday. The guide that robtmc posted helped a lot. Didn't take me long to replace it. Now, I don't have a melted and sticky button anymore. The powered rearview mirror and 12v powered...
I was checking my fuses to make sure that there were not any other blown ones that might cause the powered mirror to not work. I just took a couple out and put them back in. None were blown but suddenly my powered mirror worked again......strange :thumb3: I wonder if the fuse for the 12v power...
Cool, I will see if I still have the replacements under the hood. I believe the power mirror is the OEM mirror that come in the 4Runner. I bought the truck recently and the mirror has never worked (compass and auto dimmer).
Thank you! There's a lot I don't know and you kind people have helped me out a lot. My fuse was blown for that power outlet. Tried it with another one (the blue ones labeled 15) and it worked. Can I just get another fuse at any car store like autozone? Will it look exactly like the blue 15 one...
I have a 2007 4runner as well and my 12v front power outlet is also not working. I did look under the console and it was connected to whatever wire is suppose to plug into it. I know where the fuse box is located. How do I know if the fuse is not working?
I never have liked the look of the spoiler on any of the 4Runners. The only purpose I see for it is maybe preventing rain from getting into car if you have the rear hatch window open??
Yeah, you are looking in Colorado. Used 4runners are expensive here. I bought mine out of state.
Edit: regardless, that is a very good deal on a 4wd 4Runner with low miles!
I think I got a pretty good deal. However, I wish I did a better job inspecting the vehicle before purchase. There are a lot of things I need to fix. Nothing big but it will probably cost a nice chunk of change to get everything done. Someone would of bought it from under me if I didn't buy it...
