Something else to check is the wiring harness connections at/near the transmission. These are known to get corroded and cause strange transmission behavior.
First off you don't have to drop the tank to access the fuel pump. There is a access panel under the passenger rear seat. There are two things that need to happen for the fuel pump to turn on and stay on. The first is the COR relay. This is under the dash behind/ next to the glove box. It is a...
It seems to me that the alternator is struggling to output enough power when it's really hot. Or you have a poor connection that's related to the coils/ a/c system. Remember the a/c increases mechanical load and electrical load due to the electromagnetic clutch. That clutch draws a good bit of...
So you converted a A340H from the hydro transfer case to a gear drive case? What conversion kit did you use? Or does this just bolt up?
My 4Runner is a 94 as well and this is something I would love to do with mine. Keep up the good work! Truck looks great.

Is it me or in your video there appears to be a gap between the starter and the bell housing? Or is that just the metal dust plate I’m seeing?
You may have just gotten a bad starter. Seems like the bendix is not working. On a starter when it gets power the cintrifical force of it spinning makes...
For the front there are a few options.
1- Bracket lift. I want to say rough country makes one.
2- Mid or long travel. Blazeland makes a nice mid travel DIY kit. Total chaos makes a long travel. Both will lift and significantly improve ride.
3- Solid axle swap.

The electronics on these trucks are aging. If it won’t display any codes it could be an issue with the computer. It’s not too hard to remove the computer and pull it open to inspect the capacitors. There’s a good chance they are could be leaking. An easy test would be fine another computer and...
Could be a failed igniter. There is no diffinitive way to test them. If it fails the ecu will not fire the injectors. Swap another one in and see what happens. Best to find used oem, I have not been impressed with the aftermarket one I bought for my truck.

If the engine is not burning oil I would not bother with a rebuild. Focus on repairing the problem at hand. I would send the injectors out to be cleaned / balanced. All new o-rings for the injectors and intake manifold. It wouldn’t hurt to replace the intake gaskets between the lower intake and...
Sounds electrical. I would clean and inspect all the grounding points and the battery connects. All so look for and signs of wires shorting. My moms 4runner did something similar when the alternator died. No battery light after the event but the alternator was not charging at all.

As far as I know all of the Toyota's use a converter for trailer lights. It is common for the converter wiring to be spliced into the stock truck tail light harness. One of the splices has probably failed. Trace the wiring out. The converter is usually a small black sealed box.
1. It was not a good idea to put any kind of leak stop in the cooling system. It will never fix anything.
2.sounds like the coolant is not being circulated. My guess is the impellers on the water pump are gone.
