to check for a vacuum leak get some brake/ carb cleaner, starting fluid, etc. spray a little around vacuum connections while running. any leaks the idle will change. be caefull not to spray around ignition parts too much. could spark a fire.

Sounds like mabye a vaccum leak or a ignition problem. good luck.

Its built into the throttle body heres mine with the little cover plate removed.

I fixed the problem, found a 93 runner with a 3.0 2wd auto at pick and pull, and what do you know it still had the ECU, Switched them out and my slow idle went away, shifts better, no codes, and more power too.

I was looking on e-bay there is so many different computers. the engine has also been replaced, not sure what year it is out of. How do i tell what computer i need?:confused:

Im getting the feeling, maybe nobody cares because Im a lowely 2 wheel drive owner.:confused:

Thanks for the reply. I finally fixed the low idle, I marked the idle screw and noticed it was rattling closed, replaced the O ring now its OK, I was wondering more about shift points, and stuff like that?

I had the same rattling problem. Check your exhaust heat shield, just kinda tap on it with your finger in different spots, a bolt on mine had come loose. there are a few little coolant hoses back there, find someplace that will do a coolant pressure test wherever its leaking will start spewing...

Do you have any SMOG laws there? In Cali you cant modify any thing engine emissions related, unless Its C.A.R.B. certified.
