Anyone know or could measure the length of a stock front drive shaft from a solid axle.
I did the sas on my 95 runner and got a long slip drive shaft from a friend, It's about two inches too long.

They are Trail Gear 3"HD leaf packs with three leafs taken out, Still kinda a work in progress. As I'm still an inch to high in the front.

Definitely the transfer case linkage it's hitting.
Check the mounts for the linkage, Maybe it's dropped some.
Or jack up the transfer case and see where your getting the movement from.

Sounds like the bendix is gone in the starter.
If you find it happening again, climb under with a hammer and tap lightly where the metal housing meets the aluminum mount of the starter while someone else is holding the key in the start position.
