Help a fellow t4r owner win! IMPORTANT

I guess I'm a troll, so I'll vote for the competition. You can thank 1engineer for the lost vote.:lock1:

How old are your tires? - The Truth Behind Paul Walker's Crash (???)

Those guys died that day because the driver lost control of the car doing 90 mph in a parking lot. End of discussion. Tires weren't a determining factor. People can be stupid. Just look around.

Vehicle dangles from parking garage in downtown Austin

Oh no..... The dreaded floor mat issue strikes again! I bet the gas pedal was never shortened on that 2004!

Xterra discontinued after 2015... Good for 4Runner... Thoughts...

BOF is dying because nobody really wants or needs it anymore in the SUV market, especially small or midsize SUVs. I guess Toyota may decide to fill that small niche market as everyone else abandons it, but how long can that last? The masses will gravitate towards vehicles with the better ride...

What makes a Toyota so reliable?

A big part of Toyotas success with reliability is the fact they they are never quick to adopt new technology. They sit back and wait before implementing tech into their cars. For example, Toyota still has a lot of new vehicles with ancient 5-speed automatics while other manufacturers have moved...

Contemplating Trading 5th Gen for 4th Gen V8

No, the V6 had the full-time 4wd too. The only difference being that the V6 models had the ability to be switched into 2wd also. With the V6 engine, you could run it in 4wd forever, just like the V8 models.

Contemplating Trading 5th Gen for 4th Gen V8

Good point. I was also so very disappointed to see Toyota drop the full-time 4wd system (yes, I know it was available on the Limited, but I'd never even consider the Limited model with those pizza-cutter 20s and the low-hanging bodywork) on the 5th gen. I really hope Toyota goes back to the...

Has anyone gone from Land Rover to 4Runner?

Really? So lets talk statistics then. Tell me exactly where I'm wrong. BTW, don't discount the fact that I haven't made any statistical claims. We can go as far as you want in this discussion. I did very well in my statistic classes for my master's degree, so I think I'll be able to hold my own...

Has anyone gone from Land Rover to 4Runner?

Wow....6 days in 2 years. That averages out to 3 days per year. And 3 days per year is less than 1% total time in the shop. There you go, boys and girls. A post from an actual Land Rover owner that supports EXACTLY what I said earlier when I claimed that the average Land Rover probably spends...

Has anyone gone from Land Rover to 4Runner?

Wait....what? 8 weeks? LOL, well, that certainly hurts the Toyota average. BTW, IS250? Seriously? *shakin' my head* Your money would have been better spent on a Corolla S. Probably would have been an upgrade in performance too.:bounce:

Has anyone gone from Land Rover to 4Runner?

Aleady did. After owning a 4Runner for nearly the last 20 years (between 3rd and 4th gens), I switched to a Grand Cherokee. So far, I'm averaging less than 1% in the shop with the Jeep. Amazing, huh?:rofl:

Has anyone gone from Land Rover to 4Runner?

LOL @ you for taking my words so literally. Of course I can find posts on ANY automotive forum where people say they have no issues. When I said that people don't post about not having issues, I was generalizing. Lets use some common sense, shall we? I can absolutely guarantee you that I can...

Has anyone gone from Land Rover to 4Runner?

Auto forums are notoriously bad for trying to judge issues. Like the old say goes, people don't post to say they're having no issues, but they're quick to complain when they do have issues. I'm guilty of that as well. Again, it's biased info. And how do you know that for every person...

Has anyone gone from Land Rover to 4Runner?

You may have missed the part where I explained that I worked as a dealership technician. I can tell you with certainty that the vast majority of vehicles are in and out of the shop in one day. And I mean the VAST majority. BTW, the supply chain for auto parts is amazing. Parts that aren't in...

Has anyone gone from Land Rover to 4Runner?

Dude, don't look now, but you're the one trolling. You deleted your message earlier today. Why? Hmm....okay. I get it. Trolls will be trolls, I suppose. But I digress. If you want to insist on numbers as they relate to percentages, consider this: A quick Wiki search tells me that Jeep sold...
