1998 4Runner. Rear hatch dead. No wiper, no power window, license plate lights, etc..

I have a similar problem with my 99 Limited. I worked the rubber boots off and found multiple broken wires in the loom. Is it possible to replace the whole wiring loom? I can't seem to get anywhere with my local Toyota dealer here in Victoria BC.

    Yakima Q-clips vs. landing pads?

Roof racks I've done the exact same thing as in the picture. Q clips for the front bar when I need more length than the factory channels give me. I use Landing Pads for everyday use. I popped the end caps off the factory rail channels, slid the factory rail feet out and the Yakima Landing Pad...

    Tire question about 285/75-16

My 10 ply experiences I run Cooper Discoverer AT3 265/70/16 E tires on my 99 Limited. Pressure set at 40psi all around. I carry about 200lbs recover "uh oh" gear in the back all winter. My experience is positive, only drawbacks are the heavier overall weight, which I notice with braking and the...

Tire Debate, and Go! Help me decide.

Another vote for the AT3 I have them on my '99 LTD in stock LT265/70/16 E rated and am blown away just how good they are without shouting AGRO. I haven't noticed a big downside to having the E rated tire, except I do notice the handling difference from my P-rated snow tires in same size. The...

Cooper AT3's 265/70/16 Load E By way of intro: my baby is a '99 4Runner LTD with factory e-locker. All OEM, minus me taking the running boards off. Main driving habits: paved roads/highways as my daily drive, but I venture off road for fishing and hunting regularly (gravel fire roads, back...

What Is The Car Equivalent Of The 3rd Gen 4Runner?

Here in Canada, a big part of drive ability is winter weather handling. We've had our 2000 Honda Accord 4 door 5 spd since 91,000km and it just turned over 310,000km. Factory clutch lasted to 254,000km. With proper snow tires, and some respectable driving skills that car has gone places no one...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Yesterday was an install of new headlamp units, both sides, and GE Nighthawk platinum bulbs. I chose these over going to HID units as I ran these same bulbs on my 1996 Tacoma and really liked them for light output and cost/benefit ratio. While it was living at its prior owner's house the...

All season tires vs Winter tires ( Winter)

Unless you live somewhere you never see temperatures around freezing, winter tires are worth the investment. The cost of an accident, due to losing traction or control, far outweighs the cost of another set of tires and rims. Plus, your all season tires will last that much longer, not being used...
