yes, but both very heavy and very light vehicles can both be successful off-road. a heavier vehicle just needs special consideration when off-roading in certain conditions, like suspension and tire psi.

Doesnt really make a difference. it actually helps if a lot of the weight is down low, because it lowers the center of gravity. skids and sliders probably lower the CoG a bit.
