    4Runner #3 for me

Congrats - great looking vehicle! Since you're the only one I've found actually owning a 6th gen, would you mind taking a picture of the hitch receiver underneath? I've gotten conflicting reports about where the receiver is mounted. Some pictures look like it is mounted just to the cross...

Current Prices on 6th Gen 4Runners

So what model is the cheapest i-Force Max (hybrid)? Are they all over 60k?

Class of Receiver Hitch for 6th Gen?

Ahh crickets . . . So based upon the pictures I was able to find, it looks like the 6th gen only has a receiver bolted to the rear crossmember. That certainly won't handle a weight distribution hitching system.

Class of Receiver Hitch for 6th Gen?

Hey - wondering if anyone knows what kind of receiver hitch the 6th gen has on it? It looks like the tow rating on all 2025 models is 6,000 lbs, so I'm assuming they will come with a class 4 frame mounted hitch (good for weight distribution hitching systems). But I can't find anything that...

Master Cylinder probably Leaking into Booster

I've looked at both sides of the firewall and haven't seen anything. I'd think with that much fluid I'd see some evidence, even without pulling the boot off. The shop said next time the indicator light goes off to bring it in and they'd do a pressure test on the master. UPDATE: Just checked...

Master Cylinder probably Leaking into Booster

Yeah, and there's the rub - I've been under it, as well as a mechanic and an oil tech a number of times over the past 4-5 months, and no one sees nutin!

Master Cylinder probably Leaking into Booster

I'm pretty sure my master brake cylinder is leaking into the booster. Earlier this year I kept having to add fluid on my 2003 V8 (240 K miles), especially when driving in the mountains (because light was coming on), but I could find no apparent leak anywhere. The shop I took it to said it was...

Curious Brake Fluid & Pad Situation

Yeah, I don't see any drum either, but maybe they're using vacuum in another way perhaps?

Curious Brake Fluid & Pad Situation

Yes, it is interesting and thanks for the info about the vacuum line not being a leak potential! I just had the 4R back in so they could rework something (not brakes) they hadn't done right, and I had them check for leaks again. They doubled down on the leak, saying there wasn't one. But it is...

    Highest Mileage 4th Gen?

Stuck pistons - as in brake or engine?

Curious Brake Fluid & Pad Situation

I had to add brake fluid twice in about a month to maybe six weeks time, after some mountain driving. The light would come on; I'd add fluid and drive a couple weeks, then light pops on again. I crawled around underneath, but couldn't see a leak anywhere. I also felt in back of the master, but...

    Highest Mileage 4th Gen?

Yeah, it seems around the 175-190k mile mark is when a few things need replacing. Then from what I'm seeing - and what others have said - around 230k front suspension parts may need it. Boy are we spoiled!! Anybody remember the days when if a vehicle reached around 70k you were thinking real...

Hoses to Rear Wheels - anyone know?

So I took it to the dealer (the one in Scottsdale is renowned for great, honest service) and they said it was due to the rear shoes being so far down, and that the fluid was going into the rear pistons. They said they found no leaks including at the master cylinder. The pads were down to...
