Highlander was 1999 only, you simply have a 2000 Sport. No biggie.

I've got a '99 4runner that won't start. When I turn the key, all dash lights come on, headlights come on, but I only get a fast clicking coming from under the dash. I've read about the starter contacts, but this seems to be coming from behind the passenger side dashboard. Battery tests out...

I don't believe you could get a sport model without the hood scoop. That is what defines sport model. Highlander was only available in 1999 (until later gens).

That's a sport edition, not a highlander.

That price sounds about right for a white '97. The black 1999 Highlander w/ leather, 5-speed and e-locker is definitely the crown jewel of 3rd-gen 4runners, although green is nice too. How is the 1st gen S/C holding up for you?

Did this vehicle have leather interior as well? Anyone have pictures of it?
