Yep, this engine has been around for 5+ years now in one form or another. So far it has proven pretty stout in all applications. It is reasonably overbuilt, smart for such a widespread corporate engine. I wouldn't fear this powerplant at all.

Yep, lots of discounts to be had in much of the country now. $2k+ off a base SR5 4WD would be terrific value for a great new offroad SUV.

Got my TRD bronze wheels on, some great sales have been happening on these and many other things. Between this, the TRD aluminum skid, and the TRD letter grille, I'm pretty close to a TRD PooRO. We'll see if I ever find the TRD exhaust for a price I like.

Punched in my 2023 ORP (with navigation) into Toyota's update checker, no updates available. Don't know if Toyota fixed everything they wanted to by MY2023, or if late enough years (or with navi) get over-the-air updates.
