This is an interesting conversation. So I just came back to the 4Runner world after selling my 03 4Runner V8 2 years ago. I'm now back in an 07 4runner v6. I have to say I like the way the V8 drove better. I think a lot has to do with the AWD system and having all 4 wheels pull at the same time...

Just use some large hose clamps and tighten it around the pipe in the same place. That is what I did and it works like a charm.

Michelin LTS M/S2. Extremely smooth tire and definately a bit pricey but they last a long time, over 50K at least, and are worth every penny.

GET The V8! For 1 MPG difference, the power and tourque difference is huge. I have the V8 and my dad has an 07 with the V6. His drives like a dog compared to mine. Everyday my neighbors see me driving down the street with white teeth beaming as I smile ear to ear.

Nope, it's just a replacement manifold from Pacesetter. Honestly, I drive my Tundra more in the Summer so I haven't driven the 4Runner much but it seems to be just like OEM again.

Nope. The ebay one I put in the link is the one I purchased for $300 and it came in a pacesetter box and bolted right up.

I ordered the Toyota heat shield and it arrived today. What a PITA to install that thing! I got it on and it fit like a glove over the PaceSetter aftermarket manifold. The part was $50. All else is good in case anyone is looking to do this mod.

Here is a pic of the new installed manifold. Note the heat shield was destroyed in the process. The guys at the exhaust shop said it fell apart when they took it off. I'm debating whether to get a new one or not.
