Started the vehicle, took the temporary battery out, kept the terminal ends from touching anything, put the new battery in, buttoned it all up, and everything is working just fine. No memory lost, nothing to reset. Good to go with a brand new battery.

So following up on the original video I posted. I called the Toyota dealer and the service guy told me to just swap batteries while the vehicle's running. Saved me from having to buy or find the tools below. Ridiculously easy, total no-brainer.
