I have the exact same issue. I'm thinking possibly something to do with the sway bar.

Mine does the exact same thing and I don't have any CVs, so that rules that out for me. May vary for you, but I'm leaning towards the sway bar. I need to remove it here soon and test.

As long as you have no popping/clunking or pulling when accelerating or braking and everything feels tight up front, I'd leave them be as well.

Had the same issue when I first bought my 96. After diagnosing it by looking at the sight glass, I concluded that the expansion valve was stuck not, this freezing over the evaperator. New receiver dryer and expansion valve, as well as cleaning out the evaperator and it was good as new.
