2001 3rd Gen - Aftermarket Rear Bumper (SoCal)

Like the title says, I am looking for any aftermarket rear bumper that will fit a 2001 4Runner SR5. I am located in Los Angeles, but I can travel anywhere reasonably to pick it up. Thanks and reach out with any rear bumpers you have! Just need something so I can get it registered again after...

High idle after cleaning throttle body

Problem finally solved I wanted to update this thread for future searchers. My multiple misfire issue was caused by a bad alternator and battery. I ended up replacing the following parts: 1. MAF sensor 2. Spark plugs and wires 3. PCV valve and hose 4. Throttle body 5. Thin vacuum hose on top...

What kind of fuel fitting is this?

Followed mikentosh's instructions and it worked to get the red ring on the fitting properly. Then, I realized my real problem--I was trying to plug the connection into the wrong line. After 01thunder mentioned that the fitting in my original post was for the line running to the fuel filter, I...

What kind of fuel fitting is this?

gamefreakgc, I have a 2001 4Runner SR5 and it looks like it's stock. This line (and another soft line) starts at the top of the fuel pump, runs around the top edge of the gas tank, and then meets a hard line towards the front of the gas tank that goes to the fuel filter. 01thunder, I'm headed...

What kind of fuel fitting is this?

How long have you been running your loose replacement fitting? Do you have a picture of what it should look like when it's put together? The reason I ask is because I don't know if I'm trying to install it backwards or upside down. Can't find a picture of it anywhere on the internet. Thanks...

What kind of fuel fitting is this?

Additional info... The connector shows a logo that reads "TGS" and there is a serial number printed on it, which I believe reads ">PA12-6F23<" or ">PA12-GF23<" Any ideas?

What kind of fuel fitting is this?

What is this fitting? I dropped my fuel tank and this fitting was particularly difficult to remove. Now, when putting it back together, it is not as tight as it was and seems like the red part may need to be replaced? I'm hoping I don't have to replace the entire tube. Thanks for any help you...

High idle after cleaning throttle body

Saturday morning update A couple of days ago, I found a local guy on Craigslist parting out a 2002 4Runner with 180k miles. Luckily, he still had the throttle body and sold me that piece along with the top half of the plenum (which I didn't need) for $120. I took the new TB off the plenum and...

High idle after cleaning throttle body

Yeah, lesson definitely learned. It looks like I am finding some TBs on eBay for between $200-300 with decent return policies in case they don't work. At least I can save myself the labor costs! I do need to get a pdf of the FSM. Do you know if anyone remanufactures these pieces or parts out...

High idle after cleaning throttle body

How would I check the pressure in the fuel system? I don't mind taking it to the shop for that if it requires tools I don't have or are too expensive. How do you test the ICM? Have you ever replaced that before? I may be ordering the TB off eBay just to be safe anyway.

I tried to order these to California and Amazon told me they couldn't do it: https://www.amazon.com/YITAMOTOR-Injectors-Toyota-4Runner-23250-62040/dp/B01N51YZJI

High idle after cleaning throttle body

It's drive by wire, so removing the TPS was a no-no for me and unfortunately I did it anyway. The TPS sensor that I have is 4-pin, not 3-pin like yours.

Will a 2000 4Runner throttle body work on my 2001?

High idle after cleaning throttle body

New throttle body? I just cannot seem to get the TPS sensor positioned correctly. I gave up and called my shop to have them take a look at it, and they told me that I shouldn't have unscrewed the TPS (duh) and that I would have to replace the entire throttle body. Their cost is $1400 for a new...

High idle after cleaning throttle body

If I can find one, I should just try a new TPS and bolt it on. I may have messed it up when taking it apart anyway. My issue is how to properly seat and adjust the TPS once it is on because it does have those elongated screw holes that allow for adjusting the angle of the TPS sensor. Angling it...
