Looking for advice on a lift/suspension. Did a lot of reading and there is really a science behind all this. Looking for advice from you fine folks. I have a 1998 SR5 4x4 with a rear diff lock. I'm familiar with working on cars but picking a suspension setup is new to me. I plan on using my...
Besides the OEM bumper and OEM fog lights, what would it take to install the fog lights in a 1998 4runner. I'm guessing I'll need a switch and wiring? Couldn't find much searching through forums. Thanks!
I have a 1998 SR5, it has rust in the undercarriage so I'm take stuff off before it gets sandblasted.
I attempted to remove the original tow hitch but have hit a few snags.
#1. One of the 17mm bolts broke off on the driver side, I'm sure that can be drilled out. At least I know it won't stop...
I'm looking for a 3rd gen oem white hood with the scoop.
I'm located in California.
I can pay for shipping.
If needed, I can even swap hoods, plus cash.
For the year, the low price, and the fact it's priced around kbb seems like a good buy. I personally would look at Carfax if you haven't already and take it to a Toyota mechanic to have them check it to see if anything needs to be replaced. I have a 2007 Limited V6 (4x4) at 184,000...no...
Are not the transmission different?
I've been shopping around to pick up a used 4runner for myself (my wife has one herself).
Needless to say, finding a good one is difficult and pricing tends to be well above blue book...so...I've been thinking about picking up a GX470.
However, I've read...

Hey 2007 ltd edition 4WD 174K miles selling for the KBB Value. Since every other one I have looked at is selling for way above KBB this seems like a good deal…thoughts please.
I figure I'll keep posting to log my experience......

Visited another used car dealership.
2006 TOYOTA 4RUNNER 4X4
Asking Price: $17,990
--------------------------------------------------
CarFax looks good (no salvage or accidents...
$12,500 out the door (taxes and fees included...which typically amounts to $1,500-$2,000)
2003 / 130,000 / 4WD
$8,938 per kelly blue book.
I'm thinking about it....
*****UPDATE*****
Toyota Used Car dealerships won't budge from their "One Price, One Person" stance.
10% over Kelly Blue Book pricing + taxes and fees (which is another $2,000+ in California).
I currently see one where the customer is asking for about 44% over Kelley Blue Book.
KBB says little over 9k for a 2003/130,000.
Used car dealer asking for 13K.
I think 10-11K would be the target...no more than 20% over blue book....I think...
Looking into buying a 4th gen / V6 / 4wd. One thing I'm noticing is that all 4runners are going for more than Kelly Blue Book...like 20%-40% MORE in California.
