I hated my Duratracs but had the C load rating. I'm also very particular about the tires I run.

Seeing as there is not a Tremendous Size difference. But there is a weight difference I would go 265. Gonna have a lil better MPG and they might actually perform better offroad. Reason being when you air down the lighter/thinner sidewall will conform to obstacles better which will increase...
The Bfg's Have never let me down. I actually live in the mountains where we measure snow in feet not inches. (elevation 8600') They are my favorite snow tire.
Not sure if anything really works well on ice unless it's studded. Doubt the DT would fair well on the ice without use of the stud...
They were the Lighter c or d rated. Didn't drive them any harder than the BFG at's I'm used to. In fact I had to drive slower they sucked so bad. Perhaps the E rated are stiffer but who needs a heavier tire when you can get better performance out of something lighter.
