Welcome to 4R heaven I felt the same about the new TL. 4R has smoother acceleration. Back when I was looking to purchase my next car, 05 TL was on my shopping list. Test drove several new gen TL and new gen 4R, the 4R has a smooth torquey feeling to it. That's what got me hooked.

That looks like a nice cut off pattern just like HID projector. I have been thinking doing the mod ever since I saw mlopez61's install. How does the gap looks up close? Does the piece under the housing come painted?

The amp is Kenwood KAC-8152D rated at 300 watts RMS x 1 @ 4 ohms which is just right at JL 10W3 comfort zone. It has adjustable settings so you can set from mild to boomy plus the HU has more adjustament to make it the way I like it.

I agree with the price is a little on the steep side. But you do get to use the space that saved by going tuck a away box. Local shop want to charge the box(like stealth box), just to custom fabricated one without a sub, for $500.

Just got it and installed JL stealth box for my 05 last week. Cost me $530 total without installation at local HiFi Buys. JL audio does not warranty their product sold online, so you have to have local authorized retailer order them for you. I will post some pics along with my system later...
