Yes - It is the sliding piece. I believe mine was Gray, been so long.
2005 4 Runner SR5.

New member here, great info but here's my problem. My transmission knob/shaft passes (or more correctly passed) through a plastic sleeve that slides back and forth as I shift into Drive/L/P etc. This plastic started getting caught / stuck and I couldn't shift. Eventually it started...
