Later Fog Lights ('13+) in Earlier Years ('11-'13)?

Thanks for the offer but I went with wcjeep's suggestion and they showed up this morning. Just finished the 2 minute install and they're _very_ bright. I'll need to see it outside in the dark to be sure but he's probably correct that these bulbs are as good or better than the factory LED...

Later Fog Lights ('13+) in Earlier Years ('11-'13)?

81220-YY020 doesn't fit OK, I picked up a $30 pair of Rav4 fogs lights (part number in title) and they didn't fit. The fog lights on the 2011 trail edition are held in by one screw thru the top outside tab, the bottom outside tab is unused, and the two inside tabs simply slide into pockets...

Later Fog Lights ('13+) in Earlier Years ('11-'13)?

Thanks everyone, sounds like it's worth a shot. I'll follow up with how it goes so there's a record for others. Much appreciated

Later Fog Lights ('13+) in Earlier Years ('11-'13)?

Anyone know how much finagling it takes to install later model (like 2020 LED) fog lights in an OG 5th gen (2011)? I poked around and didn't see anyone who's done it, other than folks saying it's possible. Thanks!

    Engine Block Heater

Not worth it for me I installed one a couple years ago, mostly out of curiosity. I put a waterproof plug in the front grille, ran the wires nicely, and... it hasn't been super useful for two reasons. First, I put it on a remote timer and when it's really cold out I have it turn on a couple...

    4Runner vs LC200 vs Sequoia?

Hi All, Just looking for thoughts as others must have run into a similar issue over the years. I had a '00 4R Sport for maybe 12 years and it was awesome but eventually succumbed to frame rot and I replaced it with a '11 Trail that currently has less than 90k on it. In some ways the change...

What's the most effective way to get rid of smells?

A couple years back my kids left the liftgate open while camping. Smoke from the fire blew right into the truck for what must have been hours. The interior smelled so bad I actually thought I was going to have to sell it. But I ended up trying an ozone generator from amazon, probably $60 or...

    Insane used 4Runners dealer prices

Fascinating - just tested it and Carvana offered $20.5k for my '11 Trail with 89k miles. About what I paid for it a long time ago now... Tempted to roll that into a LC now that my kids are bigger, but won't.

Talk me into a 5th Gen

The problem with the barn door is it doesn't give you any protection from the elements. Imagine coming back from a trailhead in the pouring rain - pop the hatch and you've got instant cover while you get stuff sorted for the ride home. Coming back from a day of skiing in a snowstorm - same...

Talk me into a 5th Gen

Correction - the radio is NOT included in the dash dimmer circuit, and it's the early GX 460 I'd think about, not the 470. But for that darn barn door design I'd probably just swap today...

Talk me into a 5th Gen

OK, because you asked, and because probably not many folks here have actually had long term (or any?) experience with prior generations of 4Runner. I had two prior generations, the last being a 3rd gen (2000 model year) Sport model. Bought in 2000 and sold in 2016 with with just over 100,000...

    Parking/Emergency brake adjustment help

I just did this a couple weeks ago. On the diagram in post 13, the connector between the single cable from the pedal to the separate cables to each drum is under the center console. There's room for lots of cable adjustment there. You can access it by removing the shifter knob then popping...

    Rear Seat Heat

Toyota cheaped out Third gens had one heat exchanger and blower for the front, and a separate heat exchanger and blower for the back seat with its own controls - high/off/low fan speed plus variable heat setting. This worked awesome and would heat the cab up unbelievably fast even in single...

    On-Road/Off-Road tire sets

Michelin LTX / Duratracs I have two sets and use them both. Michelin LTX for most of the year and Goodyear Duratracs in the winter. The Duratracs work great in the snow (far far better than the LTXs) and also usually get used at least a few times during the rest of the year. I don't bother...
