    COVID Years 5th Gen?

My old '21 Off Road had the common rear hatch handle rust issue. It also had a leak in the front KDSS piston. Both were covered under warranty luckily, especially the KDSS since that is a big money repair. I traded it in for a '24 Off Road mainly to get the Solar Octane color lol

Air Escaping Balloon Sound 2024 4Runner

It's probably the fuel/EVAP system, perfectly normal. It's mentioned in the manual.

tire choice for long highway and extreme offroad

Have you thought about the Toyo Open Country R/T Trail? They're kind of middle ground between an AT and MT. I bought them to replace Toyo AT3's. The R/T's are a little noisier on the highway then the AT's but have served me well offroad though I wouldn't call what I do extreme offroading.

    Have KDSS? Check this out!

Holy crap that looks bad! Any dealer can recharge the system, it's hoping a tech knows how to do it. You can also check Lexus dealers as the GX has the KDSS system too. Recharging and pressurizing the system requires a special service tool that the dealer may have to bring in.

    Water in liftgate

You can actually pop out the black plastic hand holds and then reach in and wipe the grime out or blow it out. I had to after a recent trip to Utah where a lot of dust got in there with all the dirt road driving.

Trail Edition builds post your shots! (Early 5th Gen)

Any of you original Trail owners still have the brackets kicking around that allow the crossbars to mount to the factory roof rails?

    Changed rear diff fluid today

I did my front & rear diffs along with the transfer case last weekend at 50,000km. The transfer case fluid was still golden looking. The front and rear diff looked similar to what is pictured above by Sgb020. I used Redline 75W85 for the diffs and Redline MT-LV for the transfer case.

    2010-2013 Trail Hardware Kit

The part number for the "H" brackets that slide into the rails and then the crossbars attach to doesn't exist or has never been found. The trail rails were a port installed option and the brackets came with them. Your only hope that I know of is finding someone who has the spare "H" brackets or...

Silver Paint Code - trail insert front and back

I've read part# 00258-001D4 is a close match but I've never tried it.

The 2 white pieces circled. If those get pushed downward too far you have to pull down the headliner to get to them.

    2010-2013 Trail Hardware Kit

No it's pretty straight forward. I think I found the torque specs somewhere and followed those so as not to over/under tighten and also tightened them uniformly. The brackets are worth spending the extra few bucks on because new ones come with fresh gasket material on them that you won't be able...

    2010-2013 Trail Hardware Kit

From what I remember I replaced those brackets with new ones though I didn't have to. Part # is 6318542020 and they're cheap. This is what the rails look like on my ORP.

    KDSS Long term reliability?

Someone with more knowledge feel free to correct me but from what I understand, no. The swaybar mounts on the frame required are not present on a KDSS 4Runner.
