I changed both of my axles out a little over a month ago after the boots started to tear. Just follow the instructions and you will be fine.
btw reading the comments from the people on that other website drove me nuts. They are talking out of there ass. Its not that difficult to troubleshoot. It wont be a hard fix, just pick up a replacement CV for about 70 bucks with core charge and go to town. :roadkill:
30,000 miles isn't worth 2k in my opinion. As long as it has regular maintenance it still has a long life left in it. If it hasn't buy it anyways and drop 500 into repairs and it will still be in great shape. Good Luck :lookout:
