Yes there are screws underneath the panel preventing you from pulling it out. Only way to open that panel is to break the screws or take the whole side cargo panel off. I worked on the wiring a bit today. The back should be fine now that I see I can just tuck it underneath the edge of the cargo...

Turned on KDSS with the rotary switch? KDSS is always active and is a passive system, you can do nothing to it. On road it really isn't doing much other than providing you with stiffer sway bars. It corners amazingly well because of this. Off road in cases where your wheels are traveling up...
